Anakin and Darth Vader

I did a Fireman-themed birthday party today for 3-year-old Sam and all of his friends who were so excited about firemen, they spent most of the party putting out fake fires in the backyard!  Since it was a small-ish party, I had the time to really talk to the kids (I met a little girl whose name was also Naomi; we high-fived about that). I spent some time making two sculptures for this friend of Sam’s, who loved Star Wars even though he had never seen it.  He wanted Darth Vader and then Anakin.  When I asked him if he could hold both up so I could take a picture, he said:

“They’re not friends, you know.”

I didn’t have the heart to tell them that they were actually the same person…

NaNa and Her Froggie

This sculpture was made as a fourth birthday present for a little girl known as NaNa.  I made this sculpture likeness include Froggie, her beloved stuffed animal.  I had just learned how to make this type of frog at a class at Twist and Shout so I was excited to try it out here.  Apparently, NaNa is also a huge fan of my film and likes to watch it every week and calls herself a balloon twister!  What a kid.  Happy Birthday, Nana!
